Journals

I love making journals and covers. Some are removable and reusable covers and others hand stitched. I make plain paper and sketchbook style, diaries and fabulous Junk Journals from vintage ephemera and other recycled papers. Each one is unique in style and content and make perfect gifts.

Textiles for Interiors

Handmade luxury bespoke cushions. Each one is unique and is made from top quality fabrics, appliqued and free machine embroidered. They all have top quality plump feather pads so no sagging and have a zip closure for easy care. I am always happy to discuss commissions.

Sketchbooks

I am a keen advocate for using a sketchbook to record detail and to try out different styles and techniques. They are a great source of inspiration and encourage diversity and development. Mixed Media

I feel that using vintage papers and ephemera in my art is very liberating. This makes every piece totally individual and adds an extra dimension and interest.

Quilts

The repetition of traditional quilt making is a therapeutic and very time consuming occupation. I only make bed quilts for family members for special occasions but my intention is to start making Art Quilts with a mixed media twist.......... watch this space .........

Photography

I enjoy photography which I use as a research tool for my other projects and especially enjoy capturing images of deserted and derelict buildings and places in a state of decay. The textures of rusted metals I find beautiful and inspiring.

Odds & Ends

Well this is the place for anything and everything else.....Weaving, I have 2 looms, free machine embroidery, hand embroidery, crochet, fabric dyeing, rust dyeing, mono printing, gelli plating and anything else that takes my fancy !!!!!

I paint and draw, use mixed media techniques, stitch by hand and machine exploring ideas formulated from my research which regularly focuses on decay and the derelict. Living on the coast fuels my interest in both fish and the effect of weather and the erosion caused by tidal movement. I am a keen photographer and have a great love of handmade journals especially making them from discarded 'junk' papers and vintage ephemera which also appears in my mixed media canvasses. Textiles, Texture and Colour shape my day and I forever strive to explore and create. I have an overwhelming desire to make something beautiful from ordinary everyday materials especially those that have previously lived a different life and are now discarded and it is this that fuels my imagination and pushes my creativity. I am drawn towards the use of vintage fabrics and ephemera in my art and use various different processes to utilise these materials in my mixed media approach.
